Belmont for 16 years. A store that can turn frowns upside before you have walked through half of the tightly cluttered aisles.  Uncle Fun founder Ted Frankel started out with his first store Goodie’s located on Halsted St. After 12 years at Goodie’s, Ted had an idea to create a haven for the “young at heart”. Ted considers Uncle Fun to be the “safe space on the monopoly board”. No matter where you are from, who you are, or what you are into, this store is the “free parking” space to chill, wander, and have fun. Uncle Fun is packed with toys, gag gifts, pranks, trading cards, post cards, books, magazines, and knickknacks. There are drawers flooded with finger puppets, costume jewelry, bouncy balls, parachuting solders, lions, tigers, and bears…..oh my. Uncle Fun also carries Pez dispensers, unicorns, bobble heads, candy, FAKE VOMIT, robots, and fighting nuns. Top selling items include the Pooping pig key chain, a remote controlled fart machine, and the always popular mood ring. They can supply you with all of that along with the classics like shocking pens, and whoopee cushions. Uncle fun repeatedly surprises its customers with “never seen before” and “I’ll never see it again” items.  Employees are just as fun as the store itself. Going as far as calling on their days off just to see how the business is going and share a laugh. You can ask whoever is working for help; their knowledge and creativity will assist you in finding the perfect item including free personal shopping. From free magic tricks to free Laffy Taffy Mondays, Uncle Fun keeps you smiling all the way out the door. Without catalog and a web site that only has store info and games to play, this is an in person experience. Head on over to Uncle Fun and play a few rounds of the arcade classic Frogger (free), make a wish in the Robot Wish Machine and get lost for hours in all this magical store has to offer.
